Dave Smolensky brings a wealth of experience in client service to Resolute Consulting. Dave has built his reputation of getting the job done by developing innovative and creative communications strategies that draw upon his well-honed skills, including public relations, media relations, marketing, public affairs outreach, crisis management and event planning spanning corporate, not-for-profit and public organizations.

Before joining Resolute Consulting, Dave was a member of the management team at Kemper Insurance, where he was responsible for all internal and external communications for the company’s largest business units. His line responsibilities included media relations, employee relations and crisis management.

At the National Association of Independent Insurers, a trade association (renamed in 2004 as Property Casualty Insurers Association of America), Dave handled public affairs, grassroots outreach, media relations and lobbying. While at the association, David won a Gold Bulldog award for a media relations issue campaign he implemented in New York that resulted in the repeal of an onerous consumer law.
 
Dave has been called upon for high-level management of many Resolute clients, including the proposed billion-dollar CTA Circle Line, for which Dave was responsible for creating and implementing all public involvement deliverables for the Alternatives Analysis Study currently underway. David has also played critical roles on such projects as the Renaissance 2010 program for the Chicago Public Schools and the Hispanic Health Care Initiative for Advocate Health Care.

Dave serves on the board of directors of the Publicity Club of Chicago, is a member of the Insurance Public Relations Council, and is active in his community in the northern suburbs of Chicago, where he lives with his family. He has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Relations and Writing from Illinois State University.
